Hello, I am Roxana Michel. I am a veterinarian and veterinary acupuncturist. I created Zen Paws House Call Vet to provide holistic and integrative veterinary medicine to the Effingham, IL area. In addition to acupuncture I also offer peaceful euthanasia for dogs and cats in your own home.

I studied Veterinary Medicine in Germany and graduated in 2008. In 2011 I moved to the United States and have been practicing Western Veterinary Medicine for small animals in general practice as well as emergency hospitals ever since. 

While I still practice Western Medicine I have expanded my knowledge and interest to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. In early 2024 I attended and graduated from the Acupuncture course at Chi University in Florida. 

Zen Paws House Call Vet is offering services such as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and laser therapy in the comfort of your home. Not only is it less stressful for your pet to be treated at home rather than in a clinic setting, but we also have a lot more time to talk about the history, symptoms, personality and get to know each other in a quiet and less stressful environment.
